Communication values

I love communicating to a crowd. I aim to make it clear, concise, creative and compelling. Below are some questions I ask to that end.

  • Clear - Was the main thing the main thing? Was the inverted pyramid structure followed by placing the most important info at the top? Was repetition (the mother of all learning) used to reinforce the idea?

  • Concise - Was there an economy of words to compress the content? Was the audience respected by removing fluff? Was the movie scripting guideline of getting into and out of a scene as quickly as possible followed?

  • Creative - Was there visual support to make it memorable? Was humor employed to break down defenses? Was there an opportunity for rhetorical wordplay?

  • Compelling - Was there an emotional moment to be had? Was there a sense of conviction from the communicator? Was there action taken from the audience?

What are some of the questions you ask when communicating to a crowd?

PS - I also love communicating with @rosestapley cause we get to wear matching outfits 😂 .
