10 Church Instagram Accounts Focusing On The Experience
Here are a bunch of church Instagram accounts that focus on the service experience. These accounts cover creativity, production and worship. These sites do a couple of things well. They highlight what it took to complete a project. They reveal behind the scenes elements. And they celebrate their staff and volunteers. I have found it helpful to check out these accounts when I’m feeling uninspired.
1. GFC Creative - I lived in Florida for three years so I’ll always have a connection with churches that are rocking it in the sunshine state. Grace is one of those churches. What I like about their account is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. There are a number of posts that are just silly and fun which I find refreshing. They have a very humble presence. You can see that in this throwback post about content from 10 years ago. Often we are embarrassed by old content because it seems dated. But they leaned into it to show cause where they have come from and where God is taking them to.
2. Gwinnett Church Production - Now Gwinnett has posted for a while but I’m keeping them on this list because I appreciate their high level of production value. And I hope they keep on posting. I also appreciate how they celebrate volunteers through this post. It can be easy to just post the cool production shots of your rocking stage design or expensive jib flying through the air. But celebrating the volunteers that make the experience hands put the people over the product. Thanks for this Gwinnett.
3. Life.Church Media - It’s not a top ten list unless Life.Church is on it 😂. Love their content here. One piece that stands out to me is this internship promo video. A couple things stand out to me. Their production value on it. Often interns can be viewed as nothing more than free labor. But you know that this church will invest in their interns because they invested in the recruiting tool. Another thing that stands out is the work. A lot of shots of hard work being done. It feels like you are getting a fairly accurate understanding of what will be required from the internship. They did a great job of show instead of tell.
4. Life.Church Worship - A lot of worship accounts solely highlight the songs. What I like about this account is that it does that but also includes the planning before the songs and conversations afterwards. You get a better sense of why something was written or a particular challenge in performing what was written. This post highlights one of those types of conversations. I personally want more of this type of frank content. But I also know that too much can start to feel like navel gazing. These guys are doing a good job of walking that line.
5. NewSpring Creative - This post from NewSprig shows a series style artboard. Art can be very subjective so I find it helpful when the artist gives me a little bit of an explanation. I appreciate how the copy in the post gives some of that explanation.
6. NLC Creative - Every church recruits volunteers. But not many equip volunteers. I love how New Life Church does both. You can see them doing the latter in this post offering graphic design sessions with a designer to learn skills, ask questions or critique. This offer is for beginners and pros. A lot of churches will readily invest in gear but balk at investing in volunteers. Love seeing NLC do both!
7. Red Rocks Creative - Love the generosity of Red Rock. Last year their team produced a film for Easter. This year they gave it away. They didn’t ask for money or credit. Just wanted to invest in other churches. Love when leaders want to build the larger kingdom, not just their corner of it.
8. Sanctus Church Worship - Being a Canadian I needed to include a church from my homeland. And I wanted to include my friends at Sanctus. This account features the typical merch drops and album releases. But they also have included a number of scripture reminding themselves and their followers why they do what they do.
9. Victory Church Creative Department - I love the bio line for this account - the HEART of the House drives the ART for the House. I just might borrow that one down the road. A lot of good stuff here so it is hard just to pick one but this one did catch my eye. I love a church that takes Jesus seriously but themselves not so much. Seeing this note for Pastor Paul on the confidence monitor reminding him that dry clothes for him backstage brought a smile to my face.
10. Woodlands Church Production - I could watch a talented Video Director work a multiviewer all day long. This post from WC is that type of post from their Easter services. You can see their eight cameras and hear both directors as they communicate what cameras they are going to and the shots/angles/framing they want. Good VDs are in the moment but great ones are ahead of the moment. This director is clearly thinking and experiencing the production one step ahead to help them anticipate the action, cue camera operators accordingly, and cut when necessary.
